Maintenance Technician

We are looking for a  responsible individual to assist in maintenance programs across the Muskoka Bay Resort and facilities.

​

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Wage: $19.00 - $23.00

​

Key Responsibilities:​

  • Assisting Chief Engineer with Maintenance Work at the resort.

  • Providing the highest quality of service to Resort guests at all times.

  • Perform routine maintenance and repair work on the interior and exterior of Resort Buildings including Hotel rooms, Villas & Lofts, Clubhouse, Pro-Shop, laundry and kitchen equipment, lighting, heating/air conditioning, water treatment systems and swimming pools.

  • Coordinate with other departments throughout the day regarding room and common area deficiencies and work to correct any issues that arise.

  • Address guest and/or employee concerns and/or work orders in a timely and professional manner.

  • Assist with moving, lifting, carrying, and placing of objects. Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested.

  • Managing and Monitoring Activities that Affect the Guest Experience

  • Provides excellent customer service by being readily available/approachable for all guests.

  • Other duties as assigned by Chief Engineer and Director of Rooms.

 

Qualifications: â€‹

​

  • Technical, Trade or Vocational School Degree.

  • Certified Pool Operator

  • First Aid & CPR

  • 309A License

  • Must be able to move items weighing in excess of 50 pounds

  • Possess basic plumbing, electrical skills, preventive maintenance procedures, and reasonable understanding of building equipment and hand tools.

  • Possess excellent project management, task management, and verbal/written communication skills.

  • Comfortable in a high-energy, service-oriented environment and be able to manage multiple functions and priorities.

  • Identifies and understands issues, problems and opportunities; evaluates alternatives and solutions, while comfortable making and taking responsibility for decisions.

  • Ability to work as part of a team, while comfortable to work on own when necessary.

  • Must be flexible and able to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and/or holidays as needed.

  • A suitable applicant shall have a valid driver’s license and own hand tools.
