Marketing Coordinator/Specialist

Temporary Contract with possibility for extension


Under the guidance of the Regional Director of Marketing, the Marketing Coordinator /Specialist is responsible for the creation of marketing assets required to fulfil the marketing plan including but not limited to content development for advertising, social media, website, sales collateral and importantly, photography and video assets.  The Marketing Coordinator/Specialist reports to the Regional Director of Marketing.  The successful candidate will be a creative, driven, passionate individual who thrives on creating engaging content to assist in brand storytelling and has a keen eye for graphic design, photography and videography.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the execution of marketing campaigns through design and creation of assets for e-commerce, advertising and marketing communications  

  • Develop cohesive, relevant and premium marketing content for paid and organic social media campaigns as directed by Regional Director of Marketing

  • Produce engaging photos and video assets for organic social media as well as paid advertising and corporate use

  • Support in maintenance and optimization of Muskoka Bay website, ensuring effective SEO and engaging, accurate and timely content driving consumers to book

  • Liase and engage with guests and community through effective management of all social media channels, maintaining positive social media engagement and growth of digital presence. Includes on camera presence

  • Work closely with Regional Director of Marketing to build a social media strategy and tend to regular content planning

  • Keep current with social media and communication channel evolution, continually mining and sourcing effective digital marketing and social media opportunities

  • Maintain and create up to date photography and video galleries of best-in-class visuals for use by sales and marketing team

  • Support resort wide communications and team needs as required with development of signage, menus and guest collateral

  • Monitor and maintain online presence of Muskoka Bay Resort on all external channels including tourism partner sites and review platforms

  • Assist in CRM eblasts and blog post coordination including copy writing and deployment

  • Attend special events or activities as required to conduct on-the-ground social media, photography and video coverage

  • Build and nurture key influencer partnerships with coordination of gifted stays and successful sponsored campaigns


Skills, Abilities & Attributes

  • Authentic passion for storytelling and building brands through compelling content

  • People oriented with a sincere, energetic and friendly personality

  • Regular use and expertise of social media applications including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, Pinterest, Twitter, You Tube and LinkedIn

  • Graphic Design abilities and proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud tools: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign

  • Video production abilities in preferred video editing software

  • Photography and videography skills via social media tools as well as use of professional camera

  • Microsoft Office literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Strong verbal, written and graphic communication skills

  • Flexible schedule to allow for coverage and support of special events and media visits

  • Knowledge and experience with website CMS such as Wordpress an asset

  • Knowledge and experience with Facebook Ads Manager, Google Ads, Google Analytics an asset

  • Ability to multi task, meet deadlines and be adaptive in a fast-paced environment



Education & Experience

  • College diploma or university degree in marketing, communications, graphic design, video production or related field

  • 2+ years experience in a marketing, graphic design, production, hospitality or related field preferred
