Sales Manager

Position Summary
We are seeking a purpose driven Sales Manager, resort, on site based, to join the Muskoka Bay Resort Sales Department. This individual will be driven, resourceful, intrapreneurial, energetic, creative and an experienced hotelier and sales professional who has a proven track recording of driving financial result, meeting planner engagement and will possess passion for the events business. The successful candidate will possess strong client relationships and will be focused on penetrating and saturating established accounts along with hunting new accounts. The individual must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and will be self-motivated, a team player and very goal orientated.
Duties and Responsibilities

Target, solicit, penetrate, and saturate both existing and new accounts.

Perform outside sales calls, telephone solicitation calls and site inspections.

Possess the ability to handle objections, present solutions and create win/wins.

Quickly and accurately responding to group inquiries

Attend trade shows and participate in property, corporate and industry events.

Develop strong relationships with existing and new clients.

Knowledge of revenue management and the ability to evaluate group business.

Preparation of sales reports, implementation of individual action plans

Attend weekly and quarterly meetings.

Ability to close sales to meet short-term and long-term goals.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Knowledge of the hotel marketplace, and meeting & event trends

Proven organization skills and ability to switch gears quickly.

Ability to network and build relationships both internally and externally.

Desire to explore needs and objectives while mapping out total account potential.

Effective decision-making skills; can choose a course of action best suited for all stakeholders.

Proven problem-solving skills; encourages new innovative solutions.

Understanding of the resort business and understanding of the group meetings market.
Education and Experience
Hospitality Degree or Diploma an asset.
Prior Sales experience
Valid Driver's License and vehicle
Working Conditions
Visa Requirements: Must be eligible to work in Canada.
