For paying guests of Muskoka Bay Resort, the 8% resort fee includes so many activities for everyone in your room! 

MUSKOKA BAY’S GROUNDS ARE FOR THE EXCLUSIVE USE OF RESORT GUESTS, MEMBERS AND OWNERS. No outside visitors are permitted to use amenities that are provided through the resort fee, even if visiting registered guests. This is to ensure all of our guests can fully enjoy the facilities they are paying for.

The nightly resort fee includes year-round benefits and several new seasonal services:

Summer (mid-May to mid-October)

Use of:

• Outdoor infinity pool

• Outdoor children's pool & playground

• Walking & running trails

• Outdoor tennis court and racquets (balls available by purchase)

• Basketball net & ball

 

Winter (late December to mid-March)

Use of:

• Trails for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, fat biking or hiking

• Equipment rentals for cross country & back country skiing (skis, poles & boots), fat bikes, snowshoes and skates

• Refrigerated ice rink (closed above 4 degrees)

• Outdoor wood fired barrel sauna

• Firepits

PET POLICY

Standard pets are welcome in specially designated accommodations and areas of Muskoka Bay Resort. Simply request pet-friendly accommodation when booking and up to two pets per room may enjoy a Muskoka getaway with the rest of the family.

 

For the enjoyment, comfort and safety of all of our guests, pets must be fully trained and socialized and kept within designated areas of the resort on a leash or in a carrier when outside. A pet accommodation fee of $50 per stay, per suite will be applied. (Service dogs are exempt from pet policy restrictions.)

DEPOSIT & CANCELLATION POLICY

A deposit equal to one night’s accommodation is required at the time of booking.

In the event of cancellation of all or part of a booking, the deposit will be refunded when Muskoka Bay Resort receives a minimum of 7 days’ notice, after which any deposit/prepayment will be non-refundable. Cancellation policy may vary for select special events, which will be noted specifically.

RESERVATION POLICIES & TERMS

Rates quoted are subject to change without notice and do not include HST (13%), MAT tax and resort fee. Some packages and rates require minimum stays and may not be available on long weekends and holidays.

Special packages and promotional rates are mutually exclusive.

All facilities are subject to availability and conditions. Muskoka Bay Resort is not responsible for any package components or recreational opportunities made unavailable due to weather or any circumstances beyond our control. Some limitations on usage may apply.

Check-in time is anytime after 4 pm (1600 hours)

Check-out time is by 11 am (1100 hours). Additional charges will be applied if you do not check out by 11 am.

TAXES

The Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) is 13% in Ontario. The new Municipal Accommodation Tax of 4% on accommodation is being implemented by the Town of Gravenhurst  effective April 1, 2019.  The tax applies to accommodation only and will not be applicable to food, beverages, activities or other resort amenities that you may enjoy during your stay. This is a mandatory tax that has already been implemented in many other cities in Ontario and will continue to be implemented throughout most of the province over the next 12 months. The purpose of the tax is to enhance the offerings for tourists in the Town of Gravenhurst and to better promote the town and the surrounding area to new and returning visitors. Just like the HST, the MAT is a government-mandated tax that is not directed by Muskoka Bay Resort, nor is it optional.

BARBECUE POLICY

No personal barbecuing is allowed on balconies or anywhere on the resort premises.

 

SMOKING & CANNABIS USE POLICY

With respect for all guests, especially families with children, Muskoka Bay Resort is fully compliant with Smoke-Free Ontario Legislation; therefore, the smoking of any substance (including but not limited to tobacco, vaping, recreational and medical cannabis) is NOT permitted in any enclosed space on resort property or public areas. This includes restaurants and patios, guestrooms and balconies, meeting rooms and outdoor event venues. Smoking is also not permitted on our golf course or in resort vehicles (shuttle vans, golf carts, etc.) and activity areas. Muskoka Bay Resort reserves the right to designate any area as non-smoking Smoking is restricted to those 19 years of age and over.

Guest Rooms & Balconies: Should smoking occur in a guestroom during occupancy, an additional charge will be added to the room account to cover the cost of cleaning.

Minimum charges for cleaning resort guestrooms are as follows. Additional charges will apply if further cleaning or replacement of materials is required, in which case, the offending occupant would be liable for loss of business during such time as the room is not available for guest use or if compensation is required to be given to future guests who are negatively affected by the residual effects of smoking including adverse odours. 

Final bills will be subject to cleaning fees if there is damage found. 

 

External Smoking Restrictions:

Smoking of any substance is prohibited within 9 metres (30 feet) of any resort building doorway.  Smoking is also prohibited on or within 9 metres of any public area.

Designated Smoking Areas:

• Smoking is permitted on golf courses as long as all players concur

• Butts must be disposed of in proper receptacles

All other restrictions included in the Smoke-Free Ontario legislation and the federal Cannabis Control Act (Bill 36) are in effect.

• Edible consumption of cannabis products is allowed in guest rooms. Recreational edible cannabis is NOT allowed in restaurants and bars or public areas.

• People can consume edible cannabis for a medical purpose related to a disability anywhere on the premises.

• The same intoxication laws that govern alcohol cover cannabis and all other drugs.
